The festival runs from June 1-9 and the screening will be held on Friday, June 3. For more information, be sure to head over to the official website. We have added the first official poster and production stills, featuring John and his lovely co-star Anna Kendrick, in our gallery.
John Hollar, a struggling NYC artist is forced to navigate the small middle-American town he left behind when news of his mother’s illness brings him home. Back in the house he grew up in, John is immediately swept up in the problems of his dysfunctional family, high school rival and an over-eager ex-girlfriend, as he faces impending fatherhood with his girlfriend in New York.
From a script by Jim Strouse that is at turns hilarious and heartbreaking, John Krasiniski’s second feature is a poignant look at the bonds of family and friendship. The film’s cast includes John Krasinski, Margo Martindale, Richard Jenkins, Sharlto Copley, Anna Kendrick, Charlie Day, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Josh Groban and Randall Park.
John attended the “Alice Through The Looking Glass” Roseark Event yesterday alongside his wife Emily Blunt. The event celebrated the upcoming Disney movie and top designers showcased collections inspired by the upcoming film.
Deadline is reporting John has signed on to star in as Jack Ryan in the TV series project “Jack Ryan“. The series haven’t received a green light yet.
John Krasinski is the next Jack Ryan. The Office alum has closed a deal for the title role in Jack Ryan, the TV series project based on Tom Clancy’s popular CIA hero, which is set at Amazon through Paramount TV. In a competitive situation, the package, which includes the former Lost duo of co-showrunner Carlton Cuse and writer Graham Roland, Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes and Skydance Media, landed at Amazon with a series commitment and the intention to go straight-to-series. While there is no official green light yet, the casting of Krasinski, who had been highly sought after by TV casting directors, would likely tip the scales and help net a series order. The project reunites Krasinski with Bay who recently directed him in the 13 Hours feature.
Conceived by Cuse and Roland, a former U.S. marine, based on Clancy’s novels, the show is not a direct adaptation of the books as were the first Jack Ryan movies but a new contemporary take on the character in his prime as a CIA analyst/operative using the novels as source material. Roland executive produces with Cuse and Lindsey Springer of Carlton Cuse Prods. as well as Platinum Dunes’ Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form and the movie franchise’s producer Mace Neufeld.
In the novels, Ryan, medically retired following a helicopter crash, works as an investment broker before taking a position at the U.S. Naval Academy and later joining the CIA, rising through the ranks to Deputy Director and eventually becoming President of the United States.
Variety is reporting John is circling “God Particle“.
John Krasinski is in early talks to co-star with David Oyelowo and Gugu Mbatha-Raw in J.J. Abrams’ sci-fi thriller “God Particle.”
Julius Onah is directing the film with Abrams producing through his Bad Robot banner.
Originally set up at Paramount InSurge before its shuttering, the long-in-development movie takes place in the near future. It centers on a team of astronauts who make a terrifying discovery that challenges everything they know about the fabric of reality, as they desperately fight for survival.
Krasinski would play one of the astronauts.
The film will hit theaters on Feb. 24, 2017, with production scheduled to start sometime in the next few months.
Best known for his comedic skills on the long-running NBC sitcom “The Office,” Krasinski recently starred in Michael Bay’s Benghazi actioner “13 Hours.”
Krasinski directed and starred alongside Anna Kendrick and Mary Elizabeth Winstead in the Sundance Film Festival pic “Hollars,” which was picked up by Sony Pictures Classics. He also has the animated movie “Animal Crackers” in development and is currently in “Dry Powder” at the Public Theater.
