THR is reporting that John’s upcoming movie has expanded it’s title and the release date has been announced:

Director Michael Bay’s geopolitical drama has an expanded title, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, and an official release date of Jan. 15, 2016, Paramount announced Tuesday.

The project, previously titled 13 hours, is based on Mitchell Zuckoff’s book about the 2012 attack on an American compound in Libya that left U.S. ambassador J. Christopher Stevens dead. The story centers on the special forces team that attempted to rescue Stevens.

John Krasinski, Dominic Fumusa, James Badge Dale, Max Martini and Pablo Schreiber star in the film. Erwin Stoff is producing 13 Hours, which has a script by Chuck Hogan.

13 Hours opens over the long Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, a prime corridor for moviegoing. Last year, Clint Eastwood’s war-themed drama American Sniper did huge business over the holiday.

In a twinned move, Paramount confirmed what’s been rumored for months, that Star Trek 3 is titled Star Trek Beyond (the studio announced the news one day after director Justin Lin tweeted the full title). The movie’s release date of July 8, 2016, remains unchanged.

THR is reporting that David Denman is joining the cast of “13 Hours“. The production will begin filming in Malta and Morocco in April.

David Denman is loading his M4 rifle for 13 Hours, the Benghazi movie that Michael Bay is directing for Paramount.

The political drama is an adaptation of Mitchell Zuckoff’s book about the 2012 attack on an American compound in Libya that left U.S. ambassador J. Christopher Stevens dead. The story centers on the special forces team that attempted to rescue Stevens.

John Krasinski, James Badge Dale, Max Martini and Pablo Schreiber are already part of the team.

Denman will play an elite sniper named Boon.

The movie will shoot in Malta and Morocco beginning in April.

Denman may be best known for playing the boyfriend of Jenna Fischer’s character, Pam, on NBC’s The Office, with whom he competed for affection with Krasinski’s character, Jim. He also recurred on last season’s NBC series Parenthood.

Variety is reporting that John is in talks for “13 Hours“.

With the “Transformers” franchise behind him, Michael Bay is already targeting production on his next film.

Sources tell Variety that John Krasinski is in talks to star in Paramount’s “13 Hours,” which has Bay directing and recounts the attack on the U.S. Special Mission Compound and a nearby CIA Annex in Benghazi, Libya, on the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11.

Krasinski will play one of the lead roles, a Navy SEAL, in the real-life thriller.

Chuck Hogan penned the script based on Mitchell Zuckoff’s book “Thirteen Hours: A Firsthand Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi,” to which Paramount acquired rights in February before it was published. Erwin Stoff produces through 3 Arts Entertainment’s production shingle.

Several actors had been reading for roles in the film, including Walton Goggins and Shea Whigham, but sources say it was Krasinski who blew Bay away in an early meeting for casting one of the starring roles.

Following the end of his hit TV show “The Office,” Krasinski has been patient in finding his next project. In the past he had not normally gone after roles in tentpole pics such as “13 Hours,” preferring prestige films like “Promised Land” and the Sam Mendes movie “Away We Go.”

Krasinski can be seen next in the untitled Cameron Crowe pic starring Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper. He is repped by WME
